Here is Poppy’s 18 month gift guide for the 2014 holiday season:
- While she already has one of these adorable woodland creatures some of you guys may not so I am highly recommending them. They are undeniably cute, made out of eco-friendly organic cotton, and arrive beautifully packaged in a cloth bag with a lavender satchel. The company will even gift wrap for free! Poppy’s sweet mouse Annicke wouldn’t be upset if she received some new made in the USA clothing however.
- Imagine how inspiring it would be for your little one to be able to freely write all over the walls. These eco friendly bath crayons provide an opportunity to do it in an easy to clean up environment. In fact, they are actually made out of soap! I did read in the reviews that you should be mindful about not letting them soak in the water for too long because they can dissolve but otherwise they work wonders.
- Poppy LOVES to put things around her neck and she definitely doesn’t discriminate. I have seen her put anything from my leggings to daddy’s dirty underwear (she likes to “help” me sort our laundry). Please help us save our dirty dainties for the washing machine where they belong with these oh-so-perfect circle scarfs. Not only are they 100% made in the USA but they are fun and modern. Pretty much this company is the best and I can recommend anything they make!
- Playsilks are said to be one of the most versatile toys you can give to a little one. They can be used for so many things from creating a play scene, to dressing up, to a dancing prop, to building forts–really the opportunities are endless! Just use your imagination. These are also made in the USA with ethically sourced silk.
- Isn’t this apron absolutely gorgeous?! I know, I know…it is recommended for little ones three to eight but I think it could be manipulated to work for a younger child by adjusting the straps a bit. Plus it comes with the oven mitt and wooden utensils and those can definitely be used by an 18 month old. Just think about how many years of use this practical item will have! Another huge plus here again, these are made in the USA!
- In case you aren’t aware, Poppy is gluten free and I know she is not alone. Which is why I am highly recommending this amazing playdough. It may not be as pliable or smooth as it’s gluten-full counterpart but for a little one who is unable to play with the superior dough it is definitely a close second. Can I also add here that it is made with all natural ingredients including the food dyes, smells amazing, and is once again made in the USA!
- This beauty is hard to come by in the States but if you can find one they are simply awesome. It’s a magnet doodle but so much better than the run-of-the-mill one you are probably thinking of for a few reasons. Here’s why…it is framed in wood, it is beautiful to look at, and it writes in color not just black and white!
- This nifty contraption allows your little one to join you while you are working at the kitchen counter. Whether you are baking cookies or doing the dishes your curious toddler can be safely by your side. It is also a pro at multitasking, acting as an art station, puppet theater, or even a play fort! This one does have a greater cost than other items on this list but I feel that it is worth it if you have the funds and the space due to its versatility. I have also seen them on craigslist for at least half the price and in my book that is a win-win. You are getting a good deal and you are reusing an item that may otherwise be thrown away!
xoxo, Kristin
