So between vacation and illness it has been very difficult for me to slip away and work on this blog but here I am and I have a bunch of posts lined up to share with you. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and had the opportunity to spend time with your family and friends. We surely did. In fact, I think this may have been the most pleasingly, delightful Christmas break in my adult life. Not only do I have a beautiful daughter and husband with whom I had the pleasure of sharing it but we made the very difficult decision not to do any traveling this year and just take it easy. We, of course, opened our doors and let anyone who was up for it come and visit us but we chose not to go all out. We decided to make simple meals and not plan any elaborate site seeing. Can I just say it is so nice to sit and chat face to face with the people you love in a calm and quiet environment. There was very minimal drama and everything seemed to work out. It did mean that we missed out on seeing some key members of our family, which was most definitely sad, but with our schedule getting so much busier in the next few months we really needed to consider our sanity. I have to say I think we made the right choice. First and foremost, I cannot tell you how wonderful it was to be able to wake up in my own bed every morning next to my incredible husband, who might I add made us breakfast everyday and kept the kitchen sparkling clean (thanks so much my love)! Secondly, we were able to finish a few projects that were long overdue to be done, and lastly, we were able to do a lot of well needed vegging.
These photos were taken the Saturday following Christmas when my family was here visiting. The weather was gorgeous so we decided to break up the day and went out on a country jaunt, played some frisbee (Poppy’s game of choice was soccer), and let the dog run about. This was one of my favorite days.
I cannot get enough of this sequence. I could just eat her up!
xoxo, Kristin
